A deeply disturbing visual has emerged from Odisha’s Sambalpur district, exposing a massive failure in the emergency medical system. This video, which has now gone viral, shows a patient being pushed on a stretcher by his relatives right through the middle of the town’s main road.
The incident took place at the Kuchinda Sub-Divisional Hospital. The patient, identified as Ganesh Suryalia, had a serious leg injury and was referred to VIMSAR, Burla, for advanced treatment. However, due to the alleged non-availability of an ambulance or any medical vehicle, the family was left with no choice but to push him on a stretcher for medical aid.The video has sparked massive outrage on social media, with citizens questioning the state of healthcare infrastructure. Reports suggest that local middlemen may have influenced the family to move the patient to a private facility.
