BPFTIO Graduation Ceremony ..BPFTIO ‘Graduation Ceremony 2026’ Held with a Focus on Academic Excellence and Future Vision

Cuttack, 19/01/2026: The “Graduation Ceremony 2026” was organized by the Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO) at the ‘Nirad Mohapatra Auditorium’ located within the institute’s campus in Cuttack.

Minister of Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, attended the event as the Chief Guest. He expressed his commitment to including AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics) in the academic curriculum. He called upon everyone to work collectively to build BPFTIO into a national-level institution. Similarly, Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Shri Souvic Biswal assured full cooperation for the expansion of the institute and highlighted its role in strengthening Odisha’s creative economy.

BPFTIO Principal Professor Himansu Sekhar Khatua presented a visionary roadmap to develop BPFTIO into a world-class center for film and media education under BPUT. He stated that this would establish Odisha on the national and international creative map. He revealed that BPFTIO is continuously progressing towards securing a place among the top 5 film and media institutions in the country.

BPUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Amiya Kumar Rath stated that BPFTIO is a unique institution under BPUT. BPFTIO Academic Head Shri Rakesh Kumar Das provided information about the institute’s glorious journey and achievements. Degrees and certificates were awarded to the successful students of various departments.

Minister Shri Swain felicitated founding members Shri Rajendra Kumar Ray and Shri Surendra Kumar Sahu. Shri Dillip Kumar Panda was also felicitated for his contribution to the institute. Shri Devi Prasad Lenka, the director of the popular film “Daman” and an alumnus of the institute, was felicitated for his remarkable success.

The event was a glorious moment for students and parents, reiterating the resolve to build future creative leadership. Additional Secretary of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Shri Sukanta Kumar Pradhan, was also present on the occasion.
